Director General of the Department of Health, Professor Dr Md Abu Jafar, visited the Chaugachha Upazila Government Model Hospital in Jashore.
He inspected the 100-bed activities of the Chaugachha Upazila Government Model Hospital on Thursday. During the inspection, the Director General of the Department of Health said that Chaugachha Hospital should be maintained as a model for the whole country.
At that time, he was accompanied by Director of the Department of Health (Hospitals and Clinics) Dr Abu Hossain Mainul Ahsan, Health Director of Khulna Division Dr Manjurul Murshid, Civil Surgeon of Jashore Dr Mahamudul Hasan, Health and Family Planning Officer of the Upazila Government Model Hospital Ahsanul Mizan Rumi, Resident Medical Officer Dr Suraiya Pavin, Dr Shaidur Rahman Emon and Julkar Islam, among others.
The Director General of the Department of Health inspected all the departments of Chaugachha Hospital. Pediatrician Dr Abdus Samad, who had been posted in Chougachha for a long time, used to see patients at the Jashore 250-bed hospital attached to it. When he came to know about it, he told him that if he wanted to work, he would have to come to Chougachha from Saturday and see patients. Later, even though he was posted in Chougachha, he told the same thing to dentist Yasin Arafat, who used to see patients in Jashore Sadar. He said that these two doctors will see patients at Chougachha Hospital from today.
After visiting the hospital, Director General of the Department of Health, Professor Dr Abu Zafar said that the 17-time award-winning Chougachha Upazila Government Model Hospital will be upgraded from 50 beds to 100 beds. All preparations for this have already been completed. The 100-bed program will be launched in the next few days.
